New Photos of Bowen - Click on them to view larger

We got some very recent photos of Bowen in the orphanage. A family who was travelling to the same orphanage very kindly took these photos when they were able to visit the orphanage. The orphanage is divided into two parts, one American part (called Hope Haven) and the other is just called the Chinese section. He is in the Chinese section. Their daughter was from the Hope Haven section but we were lucky that they were able to visit both sections and take these pictures. They may have more and will send them when they download all of their pictures and see what they have. I'll post whatever else they send. They took these just yesterday!

Here he is with the family's daughter and an orphanage
worker. I guess he was the only child that ran right up
to the family. He gave their daughter a big kiss and they
think he is just adorable--which he is! They say he is
quite a character.

Updates

We received updates on Bowen today so I thought I'd show you what a cute guy looks like when he's a little older. His current measurements are:

Height: 94cm. = 37.0 in.
Weight: 13.5kg. = 29.7 pounds
Head: 48cm. = 18.9 in.
Chest: 51.5cm. = 20.3 in.
Feet: 16cm. = 6.3 in.
No.of teeth: 20

Be sure to click on the photos for a larger view.

Where in China?

Bowen now resides in the Xianyang (X has the "sh" sound in Chinese) SWI (Social Welfare Institute) in the Shaanxi province in China. The capital city of Shaanxi is Xian and I believe that's where the orphanage is so we will be able to visit it this time. We don't think we will visit Beijing this time but we will again have to go to Guangzhou to the American Consolate in the Guangdong province. From there we will fly out of China to return home. Maybe we'll take another night in Hong Kong...

Bowen Jack Blake

We just received our pre-approval from China today, which means that we can officially say that we are adopting him. Now we wait for 3 months and 3 weeks before we can travel which puts us leaving for China somewhere between Christmas and New Years (if all goes according to the usual schedule, according to our agency.) I will post updated information as soon as we get it and will post updated pictures as soon as someone who travels there amiably takes some photos of him. We will name him Bowen Jack Blake.
